[ He notices the temperature drop a little and regrets his words despite his conviction in them. ]
I'll always worry about you. Aside from everything else, you're still my friend. [ And it's true. Inaba has always been his friend, and will continue to be.
[ He says those words and she's... not sure how she should feel. Conflicted, perhaps? And it shows in the slight frost that appears briefly before she manages to shake it off.
She smiles - or at least, tries to, but it's a little painful as she threads her fingers together and brings her legs closer to her chest. ]
Thank you.
[ There's gratefulness behind those words, but there's somehow a bit of sadness there, too. ]
There's still things that are the same, though. Like I got stuck in the corn maze again... you remember that, don't you? This time it was a little easier, but I kind of got upset this time because someone brought up magic.
[ She buries her face in her knees, not really in the mood to show her expression. ]
I really hate the supernatural, you know. It's kind of funny, since we're here. But I hate it, too, even though I know we sometimes have no choice but to use it. The emotion magic, the telepathy. I won't hate anybody that uses it... any of it, really, but it just bothers me because of what happened to me in the past.
[ It's strange, how she finally admits it. But maybe she just hates the fact that she's been bubbling it in for so long that she could honestly care less about talking to someone about it.
Especially Yuuri. Taking a deep breath, she raises her head, looking at him a little seriously and asks an important question. Even if she doesn't get an answer for what they are now today, as much as she wants some sort of confirmation...
There's still some things she wants to say. That she wants to talk about. ]
Can you promise not to tell anybody else about this if I talk about it, Yuuri?
[ He knew that she would shy away from magic and other things, but it's still a little surprising to hear how much she hates the supernatural. Yuuri can't help but wonder what she thinks of him in general, considering that a big part of him is the fact that he's part demon. Then again, she wouldn't have dated him in the first place if she hated that part of him.
He shakes those thoughts out of his head, nodding. ]
[ She takes several deep breaths; in and out and then in again. She needs to focus her thoughts and reel in her emotions in so that she's calmer. Even though she knew the truth about him, it wasn't something that would deter her from having those sorts of feelings.
No, she didn't judge people for what they were. And she knew that Yuuri was a kind person.
Interlacing her fingers together, Inaba finally manages to pull herself together and figure out the words she wants to say. That she can say. ]
Back at home, I kind of... how do I say it? Someone experimented on me and a few of my friends utilizing various supernatural phenomena.
[ Yuuri waits for her to speak, and can tell that she's nervous before she does. In all honesty, he has no idea what to expect. He certainly doesn't expect her to say she's been experimented on. ]
What? Experimented on? [ He's a little angry that someone would do that to people and it shows in his expression as he frowns. ] What did they do?
It's crazy, but unfortunately true... I ended up learning what it's like to use the bathroom in a man's body.
[ Her voice seems to be serious, which shows that she isn't lying. Not to mention that there's a something there that practically screams why as the temperature sinks, but it's more gloomy than icy. ]
Well, the specifics of it were that basically my soul, along with the soul of four others I knew would be moved around to different bodies at random intervals. We wouldn't know when we'd be in another person's body or how long, so we had to pretend that everything was fine and even acted out the lives of the person whose body we ended up in. All of it was for this -- this thing's entertainment. Or maybe experiment would be a better word. I was essentially a guinea pig. Of course, the body swapping wasn't the only thing I had to deal with, but you get the gist of it, right?
[ She shakes her head in response. ] No, not of our own volition. It only stopped when it wanted to stop. And honestly, I don't know if I'll somehow wind up going home and that bastard will just drop another one on us. You actually saw a little bit of one of the experiments once... in a memory that I didn't remember. It was the one where I was a child. It was part of that.
Anyway, there's parts of what happened that I have gaps, although I know what happened. But that's it. Whether it's over or not doesn't really matter here, does it? I plan on figuring out everything when I get back, but... I just wanted to get that off my chest. Sorry for being so selfish like always, Yuuri.
[ She smiles, but it's one that's a little bitter. ] Um, so... ah, did you want to talk about something else?
It's okay, really. I'm... just glad you told me. [ After all, Yuuri knows Inaba likes to keep things to herself, and although he knew there was more going on in her world than she let on ever since he saw that one memory he wanted to wait until Inaba was ready to tell him. And he's glad she finally did. ]
Ah, well, I guess I didn't really think about what I wanted to talk about when I came up to you. [ Namely because there's a lot they need to talk about and he doesn't know where to start. ]
[ She can't help but laugh a little bit, almost poking fun at him. ] You don't just come up to someone not knowing what to talk about! What if I didn't want to talk to begin with, huh?!
[ She can't help but laugh a little bit at him, just a little bit. ]
Well then, why didn't you, idiot? [ Inaba's feeling a little more confident, smiling at him. ] Geez... don't answer that, by the way, I already know the answer.
[ She can't help but blink several times as she finally looks up, right at him. That's something that she didn't expect to come out of him right at this very moment. ]
Wait, what do you mean 'everything'? How much did you tell him?
Right? It makes me wonder sometimes... [ And she says this, threading her fingers together, staring at the ground. ] If we'll ever get to go home properly.
Me too. [ He shifts a little, looking up at the sky.
He definitely wants to go home, because he has so much to do but at the same time... ]
...Do you know if we remember everything when we go back? [ Although Yuuri should know that by now, he's been too afraid to look, afraid of what he'd find out. ]
boreas festival + inaba

He lets out a small sigh. ]
I haven't either. It's not as fun as last year.

Ah, um... you're welcome.
[ Now she doesn't know what else to say. ]
no subject
So... I told Wolfram about everything.

To be honest, I don't really remember everything I told him. [ Since Wolfram was kind of threatening him with a sword but it's fine!! ]
no subject
[ The fact that he doesn't remember everything is definitely concerning and she can't help but sigh. ]
And it's almost December too, isn't it?
no subject
[ Their house is safe and that's what matters.
He smiles, a little sadly. ]
Yeah, it is. The last year went by really fast, huh?
no subject
[ But she's still a little concerned about him, just a bit. ] It really did. I honestly can't believe it's been that long though, ahaha.
