[Whenever Yuuri gets back to the house, he'll find a small picture frame on the kitchen table that definitely wasn't there this morning. The frame itself is pretty fancy despite its size, perfect for a decoration on a nightstand, and looks like it's made out a dark, smoothly carved wood.
The real highlight is the picture that's within the frame - a painting upon closer inspection. It's a portrait, full of vibrant paints and soft lighting, and pointedly not a wild interpretation of the abstract cubism-impressionism-whatever that is Wolfram's preferred style.
It's of Greta, sitting on a royal couch and in a darling dress with flowers in her hands. There's a note below the frame, which reads:]
This style is an insult to what I could do, but it is the closest way I can bring our daughter to you. Happy birthday, Yuuri.
[The lower half of the note is taken up by Wolfram's lengthy family signature afterwards. At least this is less fancy than he'd normally go for.]
[ When Yuuri comes home, he almost immediately notices something on the kitchen table and heads over to check it out. He isn't expecting a portrait of Greta, painted beautifully and in what he remembers Wolfram calling his "old style". It immediately brings a soft smile to his face as he gently holds the portrait in his hands.
He's not sure if Wolfram is in the house right now, so he decides to send a message over the link. ]
[Wolfram had to run out again after placing the gift, so a quick thanks mentally works for now. A bigger thanks in person might be expected (definitely expected) when Wolfram does return later.]
It's still not what I'd prefer. [Gosh, when will people start appreciating real art styles...!] But I'm glad. And don't leave it in direct sunlight!
[ This was a holiday humans rather enjoyed, is it not? Shinou didn't want his three important people here to feel left out in these strange festivities, so if Yuuri hasn't died by now, he'll find a box in front of his door in the morning. The box has a note attached "Yuuri, I am your precious brother and I am deeply upset you have left me like this. I don't know if this will get to you, but when you get this, you should enjoy it and make sure you come home soon. Mother is worried. -Shouri"
Unfortunately Shouri is really the only relative of Yuuri's that he's really gotten to know enough about to write this letter for Yuuri.
Inside the box is a cute bear hat, colored in yellow and black like a bearbee. ( He might find that he matches Wolfram and Murata nicely. ) He'll also find a pair of very soft gloves also colored like a bearbee inside. ]
